Water-Cooled Air Brakes are realizing easy replacement of friction facing and have the thin structure and greater heat dissipation capacity due to effective water-cooling.

Air being applied, a piston is pushed, then the water jacket moves and contacts with a friction facing, generating braking force. Air being released, return springs release engagement.
Cooling water being supplied into the water jacket, heat generated at the friction interface is efficiently cooled by the supplied water.
As the facing with backing plate is split into halves, the replacement can be done easily by removing tightening bolts without removing the brake from the machine.
